Have you ever had a really bad day?
Have you ever had a really embarrassing moment?
Or a really, really bad day?
If you said no to that you're either REALLY lucky or lying.
Everyone has embarrassing moments. Just to prove it I'm going to tell you about one of mine.
I was talking to my Dad, over a Caramel Latte, about posting this and he said, not only is this embarrassing moment one of my greatest bad days but its a joke that always brings my family together. No matter what we do, how old we get, we will always remember the day I fell in a river on our family holiday to Linton.
So here goes...
A few years ago my whole family went on holiday to a lovely place called Linton, where there was a beautiful river and walks and a lovely cafe that did an amazing lemonade! We went to the same spot nearly every day, and we did a picnic and walk. The last day of the holiday is when it all went wrong. My eldest brother had to leave early and so left in his car, with all of our luggage...(can you tell what happened next?)
We went on one last walk, enjoying all of the beauty of nature and incredible scents of unending flowers, and guess what 7 year old me did...I fell in the river!
Lets go back to the fact my brother had left with all of our luggage. Now you can just imagine me and my sister in the girls bathroom drying my knickers under the hand dryer.
I. Was. Soaked.
If you think my day could not get any worse...it did. As right at this moment I decided to have a blonde moment, as I watched my favourite bandanna fall down the toilet. I was distraught, I felt like I had ruined everyones day and I could not stop crying. Little did I know, my trip in the river has taught me so much...
1. It doesn't matter if you mess up, so long as you can learn from your mistakes.
2. Your family will always be there to lend you a packamac to wear on the car journey home.
3. You will never be prepared for everything life throws at you, especially having wet knickers and no change of clothes!
This has been a weird post I know. I guess you have to read between the lines a little bit in order to get my attempt at a message, but if not, I hope this was a nice story into my life for you to laugh at.
Song Suggestion
Fathers Eyes by The Piano Guys
It's hard to find a song that links with todays post but after a little bit of digging through my playlists I've found a beautiful song. This post talks about family a little bit, and to me, family is so, so important. No matter what I go through I know I can always come back to my family and they will love and be there for me. On my darkest days where getting up doesn't seem possible. Or when I wake up in the night feeling un well like I did last week, my Dad will always be there for me, to sing with me, love me, and look after me while I sleep.
Let me know what your bad days are and what they have taught you the comments below!
