What is Mothers Day?
Sadly this post hasn't come at its usual time of 8AM as I was busy making my mum breakfast in bed!
What is mothers day?
According to Google...
I have always just assumed mothers day means a celebration of just your mum but in this description the words "influence of mothers" stand out to me.
The mother in the friendship group! We all have one!
The amount of times I have been tagged on Facebook in memes related to being "The Mother" of a friendship is ridiculous! But we all have one, the friend who cares about everyones well being, who (attempts) to talk sense into the rest of the group.

Not everyone has a genetic mother, it may be for many different reasons and for some people this day could be so incredibly difficult. However even if you do not have a genetic mother you most likely have someone who acts like a mother, I am beyond blessed with the people who look out for me like a mother does, my own mother and a few others including my eldest sister (remember the one who let me borrow her pacamac in my desperate moments in the river?)
Then there is the other side of it, the people who will never experience being a biological mother. To a woman this can be one of the most challenging and painful things to happen in their life. For some people, me included, it is their biggest and most terrifying fear and can be one of the biggest causes for relationship break down and so on this day, yes enjoy this celebration and be so thankful for your mothers but also, look out for the ones who do not see any celebration in this day.
