Just Stop and Breathe

Have you ever just taken a moment?

Have you ever just taken a breath?

Have you ever just gone on a random bus journey for no reason?

Have you ever just sat, silently and watched the world go by?

If you said no, I encourage you to do it. To take some 'Me' time. My dad calls it "Phoebe Time" whenever I text him saying I have gone to grab a coffee (I promise I am not addicted!), in some random place in the town I live. This time I chose Sainsbury's Cafe. I just sat, listened, and watched the world go by.

A little boy and his Nan came and sat on the table next to me, and as they sorted their things out the little boy looked over and grinned at me. The most beautiful, yet simple human interaction.

"Say Hello to the lovely young lady" the boys Nan said, as I pulled out my notebook to start writing lyrics.

"Oh look she's doing some work, you're too young for that aren't you darling"

I smile and look up, 'I'm writing some song lyrics' I tell the boys Nan.

"Oh a musician, wonderful!"

Just that tiny conversation, no more than two minutes and the little boy and his Nan were grinning at me as they tucked into a HUGE chocolate doughnut. Those precious moments captured in memories, That bond of a grandparent and their grandchild. That is family.

I was sat there for a while, and many people came past and sat on the tables around me.

But there was one family that caught my attention... a Mother and two girls, and as they sat I remembered it all.

The after school treat!

I don't know if anyone elses' parents did this, but every now and again my mum would pick my younger sister and I up from school, and we would go get a treat whether that be an ice cream in the park or a cake in a cafe. I was sat there watching those memories being created, the ones which will stay with that family forever.

THIS is real life, these are real people.

So many times I have gone out to write lyrics and just blocked out the world, I've put my headphones in and kept myself to myself, but here is my advise...

Just for an hour or so, open yourself up to the world. Open yourself up to Human Interaction, it is beautiful and it could make someones day.

Someone who used to be a stranger just shared two minutes of their life with me because they didn't allow judgement or distractions.

We are living in a world, trapped by ourselves and our selfishness. Open your eyes because it is beautiful out there, full of beautiful human beings. Allow yourself to build relationships and friendships through love, trust, laughter and a smile!

Song Suggestion//

Moments I'm Missing by Nina Nesbitt

Yes I have suggested Nina Nesbitt before and I will continue to suggest her. However in a Youtube video Nesbitt explains where this song came from and why she wrote it, which I will also link down below.

Don't allow yourself to miss those precious, precious moments with incredible human beings!
